Karissa's Bunny

Karissa turned 9 on Saturday. This is her with her bunny she got from her best friend Micaiah. They brought it over the weekend before her birthday because they were not going to be able to make it to Karissa's birthday party. She is so excited about having her own pet.

We had Karissa's party on Saturday in Grants Pass with Grandma and Grandpa Ward, Great Grandma Sally, Uncle Jonathan, Aunt Katie, Thomas and Alli, Uncle Levi, Jordan, and Aiden, Grandpa, and Grandma Parmer, and Aunt Edie. I will try and get some pictures posted on here soon (they are on Jacob's phone).

Father's Day Fun

On Father's day we made Jacob omlets, with hashbrowns, toast, and orange juice. After breakfast the kids gave Jacob his present which was a hunting game for his WII that he has been hinting about wanting for quite some time. Then we headed off to church and after wards went to Collier State Park to go fishing and have a bbq down by the beautiful crystal clear creek. After loosing multiple hooks Jacob decide we should try a different spot down the creek where there is a bridge so we packed up all our stuff and headed off toward the bridge. Aleigha, Brendan, and Ethan were pretty much done fishing so I took them over to play on the swings for a little while. On our walk back to the bridge Aleigha saw a plastic bag blowing away so she ran after it and grabbed it. While she was walking back I noticed a little prairie dog walking around in circles like it was hurt. We got closer and the poor little thing was panting and completely stunned like it had no idea what had hit him. Apparently Aleigha accidently kicked him on her way to grab the bag. He was really cute and let us get within 2 feet of him. He sat there for quite awhile until Aleigha tried to put grass on him to make him a nest and he took off running.
No one caught anything (unless you count moss) but they sure had a lot of fun trying! After that we headed home for another barbecue, this time steak, and for dessert Jacob's favorite cherry cheesecake.

Karissa's purse

Well here is the purse I made for Karissa. I took this picture with my phone so the colors look a bit different. My origional plan was for it to have a purple flower and purple strap, but when I went to the store to buy more purple yarn they were out. Then last night to entertain myself while sitting through star trek with Jacob (I told him I would watch the whole series with him) I decided to try the pattern for this clover and it turned out quite cute. I then tried it on her purse and liked it so i quickly made a strap and put it all together. She was really happy this morning when I gave it to her.

Funny stuff

today'sFUNNY===========================

Buddy and his wife Edna went to the state fair every year, and every year Buddy would say, "Edna, I'd like to ride in that helicopter."

Edna always replied, "I know Buddy, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks."

One year Buddy and Edna went to the fair, and Buddy said, "Edna, I'm 85 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance."

To this, Edna replied, "Buddy, that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks."

The pilot overheard the couple and said, "Folks, I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say a word, I won't charge you a penny! But if you say one word it's fifty dollars."

Buddy and Edna agreed and up they went.

The pilot did all kinds of crazy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, trying to elicit even a peep, but still not a word!

When they landed, the pilot turned to Buddy and said, "By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I am impressed!"

Buddy replied, "Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Edna fell out, but you know, fifty bucks is fifty bucks!"

Top of the world

We went for a drive Sunday afternoon and after a long trip on a one lane paved road ended up here. We still are not exactly sure where here is or what they do here but it was pretty cool. View was great from mount Shasta to far into the Klamath basin it is truly awe inspiring. And to think this is just a little part of the majestic world God spoke into existence. Selah

Grandpa & Grandma visit

Grandpa and Grandma Ward made the long trip over the hill today to visit and brought Thomas and Alli with them. We had a great day and were able to spend lunch together. Brendan was curios why they did not bring their birds over but he enjoyed the visit none the less. While they were here both grandparents became addicted to Wii and I think they will own one soon. Weather was beautiful fellowship was great Thanks for coming over!

Suprise

This might look like a cute furry little creature but you would not think so if you had found him as I did....
As I was driving home from work I saw my oil light come on and some smoke coming from under the hood. Uh-oh I thought as I pulled the car immediately over to the side of the road. This car was purchased for economy and not because it was a cool car. It is a 1983 Honda Civic with many miles on the engine so loosing a little oil now and then is not such a big deal however the smoke added to that was a big concern. So I jump out of the car and carefully open the hood from the side that is not smoking and as I slowly lift the hood watching the other side I notice something strange. A big ball of fur cuddled up right next to the battery which also happened to be next to my hand. I quickly dropped the hood and found a stick to open the hood back up. Apparently the warm engine compartment was irresistible to this little (10 lb.) rockchuck (Marmot) at least until it really started to heat up. The smoke was from his fur so I am sure the adventure was less pleasant for him then me despite the fact that he took quite a bit of poking for him to be persuaded to leave the car. I am certain it was quite the spectacle as people drove by watching me poke under the hood with a stick but I am also certain it is not the strangest thing they have seen in Klamath Falls!
