I found this list on another homschoolers blog and couldn't resist posting it here. (She did not know where it came from.)
I will not yell in class
I will not stomp my feet when I am mad
I will not throw things
I will not tease the other kids
I am the teacher. I am the teacher. I am the teacher.

Maroon oranges???
We bought some really good oranges from the store the other day. In fact they were so yummy we have gone back 2 more times to get more. Well I was in the living room when Karissa said to me "Mom, this is the juiciest orange I have ever eaten!" I glanced up at her and smiled and was about to say they are good aren't they when to my horror I see that the flesh of her orange is maroon. I freaked out and took it away from her and asked her "Why would you eat this?" My first thought was that it was spoiled, but upon closer examination it looked just fine and smelled fine but was maroon. Still horrified that my daughter would eat something with out questioning why it looked funny I put it in a zip lock bag and put it in the fridge and decided I would look it up online when I had more time. In the mean time Jacob came home from work to have lunch so I showed it to him. He was freaked about Karissa eating it too, and promptly looked it up on line. The was not much to find out except that it could possibly be what is called a Blood Orange. So the next time we went to the store Jacob had to ask and yes, they do sell Blood Oranges there. I wish I had taken a picture to show you though you may all have heard of them before but this was something totally new to us. -Angie

Wii need to get fit
We bought a wii fit with money we were given for Christmas. It has been a blast working out lately. If you have been considering getting one I highly recommend it for a fun work out. There are two problems with it though
1 on a regular wii you get to choose how fat or skinny you get to make your mii but on wii fit it takes your height and weight and makes your mii for you so now I have a fat little mii.
2 the first day I did my body test I had been sick and not eating much then the next time I took my test it said I had gained weight and it gave me some guesses as to why I had gained weight. Well I had to choose one and being sick is not one of them so I just clicked on snacking. Well later on as me and Jacob were looking at my chart my mii kept saying I've been snacking!
So if you don't mind it telling you you need to loose weight or mind it making fun of you for snacking too much then go for it it really is tons of fun.

New Year’s Traditions
Well we were discussing New Year’s traditions and specifically what traditions we should adopt or hold to as a family. It seems we have decided on being sick for New Year’s although I hope this does not become a tradition.
It started with Ethan Sunday afternoon then Austin, Tyler, and I got it. As we were just about on the recovery road, Angie, Brendan, and Karissa get sick. Just one left and so far Aleigha is just fine.
We are defiantly praying for good health in the New Year.

P.S. We have 4 or so inches of snow :)

Merry Christmas!!!
I love everything about Christmas: the lights, trees, presents, colorful wrapping paper, ribbons and bows, carols, plays, cookies, and shopping. It is so easy to get all caught up in these things and forget the true meaning of Christmas. JESUS CHRIST
It is so amazing that the GOD who created the entire world and everything in it would chose to come down from heaven to be born in a stable, live among us, and then die on a cross for our sins so that we could one day go to heaven to live with him.
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God manifest in the flesh justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16
So while you are spending time with friends and family don't forget the TRUE meaning of Christmas!
Merry Christmas,
Angie

Funnies
Hairdresser shop in Norway: "Nice face ... shame about the hair."
Furniture store in Australia: "Our beds are factory-trained not to jump on your children. Please show the same courtesy."
On a van for a company that does window treatments in New Zealand: "This van is driven by a blind man!"
